When the fall of 2016 rolls around, Democrats are hoping they’ll be able to take back control of the Senate, and of course President Obama will be leaving office. So perhaps it isn’t so odd to see Sens. Reid, Schumer, and Warren, pushing back against the president over his Trans-Pacific trade deal, one that they feel will hurt the middle class, a key strategic constituency that the Dems believe can help carry them to victory next election. The president also recently accepted a bipartisan bill regarding Congressional approval of the Iran nuke deal, which, well, is new. Are these signs that his lame duck status is beginning to take its toll? Is President Obama’s legislative strength beginning to drain?
