Kanye West is at the center of a police investigation over allegations he assaulted a man who threatened his fiancée Kim Kardashian.

The “Stronger” hitmaker was reportedly embroiled in an altercation with an 18-year-old man in Los Angeles on Monday.

Witnesses tell People magazine that the unnamed man began hurling racist abuse at Kardashian as she made her way to meet West at a medical building, prompting the rapper to allegedly lash out.

Officers are now investigating claims of assault against West.

A statement from Beverly Hills Police reads: “The named suspect was identified as Kanye West by the victim and several witnesses. Mr. West had left the location prior to officers’ arrival. As of this writing, Beverly Hills Police Department detectives are conducting a follow-up investigation.”

West is currently involved in a separate legal dispute over an alleged assault on a photographer.
