Def Leppard star Vivian Campbell is wowing pals with his energy and determination as he battles cancer.

The rocker is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment after he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, but he’s refusing to feel sorry for himself and is already making huge plans for his return when he’s healthy.

Def Leppard are planning a return to Las Vegas for another residency when Campbell is feeling better and veteran drummer Vinnie Appice is hoping their new band Last in Line will hit the festival circuit next summer.

He says, “We were going to play a bunch of festivals but Viv had to take care of himself. When he gets fully better we’ll book more next year.”

But Appice, who has played with Dio and Black Sabbath, admits he’s impressed with his pal’s determination as he fights to get well, adding, “He amazes me. I’ve played with guys going, ‘I’ve got a cold, I can’t go on…,’ but he’s doing chemo, and he’s rocking out. He’s loaded with energy.”

Meanwhile, Campbell assured fans earlier this week (beg19Aug13) that he was winning his battle against cancer – in a post on his Facebook.com page, he wrote, “It’s chemo number 10 today. Only two more left after this, then it’s goodbye cancer, welcome back eyebrows – brilliant!”
