Alfred man charged with murder in wife’s death

A Maine man has been charged with murder after his wife was found dead at the couple’s home in Alfred.

Police found the body of 39-year-old Kristan Crow at a home on Waterboro Road in Alfred on Monday afternoon. Deputies were responding to a disturbance complaint. The woman lived at the home with her husband, 40-year-old James Crow, who wasn’t home when deputies arrived.

James Crow was later found in the parking lot of Harry’s Gas Station on Route 111 in Lyman. He surrendered without incident.

Kristan Crow’s death was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner.

James Crow is set to appear in court over Zoom on Wednesday afternoon.
