Plane makes emergency landing at Bangor airport after crew reports fire in cockpit

An emergency landing at the Bangor airport prompted a runway closure on Monday after crews reported a fire in the cockpit.

The Bangor Daily News reported that the Swiss Air flight made an emergency landing around 12:15 p.m.

The runway had reopened by 1:30 p.m.

Multiple fire trucks and ambulances were staged in the area.

There was no word of any injuries.

The flight was headed from Zurich to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.
