211 Maine is a free, confidential resource that helps connect people to services that help them stay healthy, safe, and independent. This includes everything from food pantries and heating assistance to mental health services, support groups, or utilities assistance. The 211 Maine Contact Center is based here in Maine. Mainers can connect to specialists and receive information and referrals by calling 211, texting their zip code to 898-211, or visiting our recently redesigned website at 211maine.org.  In 2020, 211 Specialists fielded over 97,000 calls, over double the number from 2019. 211 Maine has been partnering with Maine CDC to answer questions and provide general information regarding COVID-19. 211 Specialists have been available by phone, text, and email to field questions 24/7/365. To date, specialists have fielded over 55,000 questions.
