Bangor Savings Bank | The ABLE Program

We speak with Bangor Savings Bank President and CEO, Bob Montgomery-Rice as Bangor Savings Bank launches first-in-the-nation benefits checking account for people with disabilities.  The ABLE program was federally established as the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act of 2014. ABLE accounts are established for persons with disabilities, allowing them accesses to banking without impacting necessary public benefits. ABLE Programs are managed at the State level, with a financial institution, in this case Bangor Savings Bank, serving as the Administrator. If anyone has questions or would like to open an account, we invite you to visit our website, www.bangor.com/maineable, or visit a local BSB branch.
