Changes To MaineCare

Phil Harriman speaks to Ian Yaffe from the Office for Family Independence in the Department of Health and Human Services

MaineCare is Maine’s Medicaid program. MaineCare provides free and low-cost health insurance to people who have lower incomes or special healthcare needs. MaineCare pays for doctor visits, prescription medications, emergency care, substance use disorder treatment, and more.

If you aren’t sure which month you are due or whether you may have been automatically renewed, you can check your renewal status and date in your account at MyMaineConnection.gov. Overall, members who have not yet renewed need to take two important steps: First, make sure MaineCare has your current contact information, including your address, email and phone number.

You can call 1-855-797-4357, and press option 1 to update your information through an automated system or visit MyMaineConnection.gov. This is so important– MaineCare needs to be able to reach you to complete your renewal.
