As author and recent University of Southern Maine commencement speaker, Ibram X. Kendi once wrote, “The only remedy for past discrimination is present discrimination. The only remedy for present discrimination is future discrimination.” Encapsulated in Kendi’s message is the pernicious philosophy of Critical Social Justice (CSJ), which instructs its students to view every aspect of society through the lens of oppression and power.

Maine Policy will be releasing a new report today examining the prevalence of critical race theory ideology within the University of Maine System.  The author of the report, Dr. Scott Yenor, is a Washington Fellow at the Claremont Institute’s Center for the American Way of LIfe and will be in Maine today for the event unveiling the report.
