Eggs & Issues: Shaping Maine’s Scientific Future – The MDI Biological Laboratory

Join the Portland Community Chamber and Hermann Haller, M.D., President of Bar Harbor-based MDI Biological Laboratory, for a fascinating discussion on the latest advances in biomedical research.

Over the last 20 years, MDI Biological Laboratory has led the largest biomedical research and training network in Maine, supporting 14 research and academic institutions, funding 55 early-career scientists, and training more than 3,000 undergraduate students from Portland to Presque Isle.

The Laboratory is an international research hub for kidney and limb regeneration and is launching a new early-stage drug discovery program that will provide a faster, more efficient approach to bringing new therapies to market. Scientists at the MDI Biological Laboratory are working to enhance our natural ability to repair damaged tissues and organs and slow the onset of age-related disease.
