They have an increased amount of funding for HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program, also known as LIHEAP). They received an extra $3 million for Maine because of the CARES Act, which was part of Congress’s response to COVID. If people apply now, they can get a benefit for heating their homes that they have until 4/30/2021 to spend. The only trouble is that they have to apply and be approved by July 15.
