Jeana Roth / The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland speaks to Matt Gagnon about what they are doing for our pets.

  • They have been working with local food pantries to supply pet food for their clients, so that community members in need can make one stop for both human and pet food
  • They are expanding our shelter Pet Food Pantry to be available daily for those in need
  • They have moved more than half of our animals (115) to foster homes. We have had nearly 300 new foster home applications since March 1st, people interested in fostering a pet while they are home — which is amazing!
  • They have sent several special needs and long-term pets home through adoptions by appointment, an example would be a bonded pair of senior dogs Roxy and Bella who had been with us since winter 2019.
