Matt Gagnon interviews Joe Lundberg, a senior meteorologist from AccuWeather, about the current and upcoming weather conditions. Lumberg explains that strong winds were caused by a front that passed late Monday night and an upper-level jet stream that enhanced surface mixing. Wind gusts exceeded 53 mph in some areas, with Newfoundland experiencing over 90 mph. A storm moving into northern Michigan will bring more wind and rain, with potential wind gusts over 40 mph. Temperatures will be milder this weekend but will drop to the 40s next week. The coldest weather will affect the southern and western parts of the country.
