Maduro Pleads Not Guilty

Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Celia Flores, pleaded not guilty to charges including narco-terrorism and cocaine importation. They appeared in a New York court after being captured in a US military raid. The indictment accuses Maduro of importing thousands of tons of cocaine since 1999. Protests both for and against Maduro’s detention were held outside the court. Matt criticized the US Attorney General’s rhetoric and argued that Russia and China’s aggression was not influenced by the US action in Venezuela, citing their past invasions and actions in Hong Kong.
