Make 12 Hours Count Radiothon 10/16/25

WGAN’s “Make 12 Hours Count Radiothon” Returns to Support Maine Veterans

After a six-year hiatus, the Make 12 Hours Count Radiothon returned for a full day of broadcasting from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., raising funds for Veterans Forward, a Maine-based nonprofit that provides critical assistance to veterans and their families.

The 12-hour event featured a rotating lineup of hosts, including WPOR’s Jon Shannon and Hall of Fame Broadcaster and veteran Chuck Igo. Listeners heard powerful stories highlighting the urgent needs of Maine’s veteran community — from housing and food insecurity to substance abuse challenges.

All four members of Maine’s Congressional delegation — Senators Susan Collins and Angus King, and Representatives Jared Golden and Chellie Pingree — joined the broadcast to show their support for the cause and for Maine’s veterans.
