Memorial Day Travel Forecast

Matt speaks with Tom Baran Traffic Education Specialist with AAA Northern New England on Memorial Day Travel Forecast. He predicted a significant increase in travel, with 45.1 million Americans and over 2 million New Englanders planning trips over 50 miles. 80-87% of travelers will use cars, while air travel and other modes like trains and buses will also see increases. Barron emphasized the importance of vehicle maintenance to avoid breakdowns and highlighted that AAA received over 2,500 calls last year for broken-down vehicles. He also noted that lower gas prices, currently averaging $3.02, are contributing to the increased travel.
