Nikki Busmanis | Maine 211

We speak with Nikki Busmanis , Maine 211 Program Manager. This year 211 Maine is celebrating 15 years of service! 211 Maine has been a statewide program since 2006. In that time, 211 Maine has received over 800,000 calls. 211 Maine receives thousands of calls for assistance every month. Last year, the most common reasons were for heat and electricity payment assistance, rent payment assistance, food pantries, and community shelters. In recognition of this milestone, Governor Mills issued a proclamation that July is 211 Maine Month. The 211 Maine Contact Center is based here in Maine. Mainers can connect to specialists and receive information and referrals by calling 211, texting their zip code to 898-211, or visiting our recently redesigned website at 211maine.org.
