In the Texas Senate primary, James Talarico narrowly defeated Jasmine Crockett, despite her being a progressive favorite. Incumbent John Cornyn narrowly led Ken Paxton by 23,000 votes, forcing a runoff. Paxton, a controversial figure, garnered 40.8% of the vote.
