Veterans Forward: Kim’s Story 8:00AM

Kim Slininger, a former Air Force fighter aircraft mechanic, shared her experience of being sexually assaulted during her service, leading to undiagnosed PTSD until 2004. She highlighted the lack of awareness and resources for veterans, emphasizing the importance of organizations like Veterans Forward, which provide essential services such as housing assistance, vehicle support, and job training. Slininger, now a Senior Vice Commander for the Disabled American Veterans, stressed the need for smaller organizations to support veterans who fall through the cracks. She urged the public to support Veterans Forward and similar organizations to help veterans access the resources they need.
