Jason Taylor – WGAN Morning News Anchor

Jason is the Morning News Anchor at News Radio, WGAN in South Portland, Maine. My news background includes a number of different stops in radio newsrooms across the Midwest and the Western states. He covered both the Kansas and Missouri state legislatures, being stationed in the capital cities of both states. He now enjoys covering local news here in South Portland, Maine at WGAN.

In a prior lifetime, I was a radio music DJ, wondering after college from the west coast to the central and southern U.S. I spent time in Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston, Tulsa and several smaller cities. I was heard mostly during the afternoon commute or morning drive for listeners. A highlight was being a fill-in for the syndicated “American Top 40” show in the 1990s, when Shadoe Stevens had taken over for the legendary show creator, Casey Kasem.

Nate Hanscom – Weekend Newscaster

Nate Hanscom is a newscaster for Newsradio WGAN (98.5 FM, AM 560) in the Southern Maine area, talking about the latest and most interesting things happening in the state at the top and bottom of the hour on weekend afternoons. At 22 he’s currently the youngest on-air personality in terms of age at WGAN’s parent company Portland Media Group, bringing a high energy Gen-Z perspective to broadcasting for over 2 years.
Away from the hustle and bustle of radio, Nate is a former student at Southern Maine Community College in South Portland with an associate degree in music and eventually aims to have a career in audio/music. He’s also incredibly passionate about animals (mostly ones that are capable of killing you, for some reason) and the environment, usually shining a light on issues and news regarding those two topics whenever he can. In his spare time, you’ll probably find him jamming out to sludge metal, playing guitar and writing songs, and hanging out with his dog Bear.
