Man arrested for thefts near Sebago Lake

CASCO, Maine (WGAN)  The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office says a man has been arrested for taking money from campfire wood stands.

Police say for the last two months, a number of roadside campfire wood stands, common in the Sebago Lake Region, have been burglarized in Standish, Casco and Naples.

Police say in total, about $1,000 has been taken.

Police were at one of the sites Sunday night when a man was seen fishing for dollar bills in one of the cash boxes.

Police say 33-year-old Andrew Connolly was arrested and charged with theft and violation of conditions of release.
