Fatal ATV Crash - Franklin County Sheriff's Office

A 35-year-old Maine man is dead, and another person has life-threatening-injuries from an ATV and car crash in Chesterville.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says the ATV and a car crashed at the intersection of Cohoon Road and Route 4, on Saturday around 4:50 p.m.

Deputies say Michael Kidd Jr. of Chesterville was driving an ATV when he failed to stop and entered the intersection where he was hit by a Toyota Camry driven by 38-year-old Christopher Roe of Vienna.

Kidd and his passenger, 46-year-old Karrie Phenes, were thrown from the ATV.

Deputies say Kidd died at the scene, while Phenes suffered severe, life-threatening injuries and was flown a Portland hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
