DEDHAM, Maine (AP) An 89-year-old man has died in a four-vehicle crash in Maine.

Authorities say Edwin Roberts was driving an SUV on the Pine Trail Road in Dedham when he failed to stop at the intersection of Route 1A.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office says Roberts, of Dedham, drove into the southbound travel lane in front of a pickup truck towing a camper driven by a Massachusetts man.

They crashed into a third vehicle. A fourth vehicle that couldn’t stop in time rear-ended Roberts’ SUV.

Police say Roberts died at the scene. Four other people were taken to the hospital.
