LITCHFIELD, Maine (AP) Maine State Police say a driver was killed when his sport utility vehicle struck a tree in Litchfield.

Investigators say his vehicle crossed the center line and slammed into a pine tree off Route 197. They say road conditions did not appear to be a factor.

The crash remains under investigation.
