11 dogs and four cats were killed in a fire in Franklin County.

The fire broke out Tuesday night at a home in Avon, where the Phillips fire chief said it took crews nearly 45 minutes to find the home because it was at the end of a long driveway and hidden behind trees.

No one was home and there were no injuries, but the house was destroyed.

Fire investigators say the cause of the fire can’t be determined because of the extent of the damage.
