NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine (AP)- Maine authorities say they continue to investigate the death of a woman whose body was found in the woods more than a decade ago.

The Press Herald reports Maine State Police considers the death of Amy Drake to be “open and active” 12 years after her death. State police posted the message Saturday on Facebook page on the 12th anniversary of her death.

The Skowhegan woman was reported missing Sept. 20, 2006, by her mother.

The then 18-year-old was the mother of a 2-year-old child and was found two months after she went missing in the woods by a pair of deer hunters in Norridgewock.

State police have interviewed a suspect in the past but stopped short of naming any persons of interests in the case.

Officials have not said how Drake died.
