A 17-year-old was killed, and two others were hurt in a car crash in Saco early Wednesday morning.

The teen was identified as Daniel Abbott of Saco, a passenger in a vehicle that went off the road and crashed into a tree around 12:30 a.m. on Mast Hill Road.

Police say the car was being driven by an 18-year-old from Saco. He was taken to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

A juvenile girl who was also a passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police believe speed was a factor in the wreck, which remains under investigation.
