18-year-old charged in connection with Auburn shooting

A teenager has been accused of firing shots into a building in Auburn earlier this month.

Auburn police arrested 18-year-old David Richards Jr. after searching a home on Thursday morning.

Investigators were looking into the firing of shots into a building on Whitney Street on October 7.

Police said a handgun, ammunition, and crack cocaine were found inside the home.

Richards has been charged with reckless conduct with a firearm, unlawful transfer of a handgun to a minor, and unlawful possession of a schedule drug.

Police say more arrests and charges are expected.

Richards is being held at Androscoggin County Jail on $20,000 cash bail.
