A 21-year-old is dead after a crash in Harpswell.

Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the intersection of Mountain and Reach Roads just before 7 a.m. Monday.

A press release from the sheriff’s office said a pickup truck operated by Mason Warren of Harpswell veered onto the dirt shoulder before it cut back across the roadway and left the road on the opposite side.

The vehicle struck a large dirt embankment and flipped onto its roof before coming to rest.

Warren was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s office said he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The release said speed and alcohol appear to have been factors in the crash.
