25,000 eligible Maine households to receive free COVID-19 at-home tests

AUGUSTA, Maine (WGAN) Governor Janet Mills says her administration is working alongside the Rockefeller Foundation to deliver 125,000 free COVID-19 tests to residents in vulnerable communities.

The governor’s office says 25,000 households in the state will receive five free, rapid at-home tests that will be delivered through Amazon one week after ordering. It’s part of Project Access COVID Tests, or ACT.

Mainers in about a quarter of the state’s ZIP codes can get the tests. Eligibility will be determined using the U.S. CDC’s social vulnerability index. Rural ZIP codes with low vaccination rates and limited access to testing will also be taken into consideration.

Residents can go to AccessCovidTests.org to see if their ZIP code is eligible.
