Maine continues to see COVID hospitalizations drop, with the number of patients falling by more than 100 over the past two weeks.

On Wednesday, 304 people were in Maine’s hospitals with the virus. The number of COVID patients in the ICU also fell to 70, with 27 of those people on ventilators.

COVID hospitalizations in the state peaked at 436 in mid-January.

It’s reflecting a trend being seen nationwide, indicating the omicron surge is waning even as deaths remain high.

The Maine CDC on Wednesday also reported 3 additional deaths among Mainers with the virus.
