BIDDEFORD, Maine (AP) Maine health officials say dozens of disabled adults affected by the state’s decision to terminate a Medicaid contract have been relocated.
49 of 67 disabled adults were relocated from the Biddeford-based community service provider Residential and Community Support Services. Officials say the contract was ended because the required improvements weren’t made after a resident died. Officials say they ended the Medicaid contract with the provider in October because the company failed to make the improvements required after the death of 62-year-old Norman Fisher in August.
Officials say the company has been given another chance to submit a plan of correction.
