There were 980 additional cases of coronavirus and twelve virus-related deaths reported in Maine on Tuesday, as the state again saw a record number of hospitalizations.
Maine’s Center for Disease Control says 367 people are hospitalized with the virus in the state, surpassing the previous record just set on Monday. 110 of those patients are in ICUs while 59 are on ventilators.
The continued surge comes as health officials anticipate more cases as a result of gatherings over the Thanksgiving holiday.
As vaccination clinics ramp back up to offer booster doses, the state has opened another mass vaccination clinic at the Augusta Armory, working alongside the Maine National Guard and Maine Emergency Management Agency.
1/Stat of the Evening: 475.
That's how many doses of #COVID19 #vaccine our teams administered at the Augusta Armory today.
Thank you to everyone that came out today to get their shot.
Big thanks to @MEPublicHealth, @MaineEMA, and @GuardMaine who made it happen.

Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah said Tuesday the site will remain open at least through the end of the year, and is offering doses of all three available vaccines. The site is accepting walk-ins. On Tuesday, Shah said 475 doses had been administered there.
You can find hours for that site and others on the state’s list of vaccination sites.
So far, about 72% of all eligible Mainers have been fully vaccinated.
