A historic plane in Brunswick now looks like it just came off the production line.

A Lockheed P-2 Neptune has sat at the entrance of the former Brunswick Naval Air Station since 1970.

Having been exposed to the elements for 55 years it has finally been refurbished.

CBS 13 reports that a ceremony was held on Friday to celebrate the project.

A committee of Navy veterans, volunteers from the Brunswick Naval Aviation Museum. and the MRRA have been working together to wash, prime, and paint the aircraft.

$60,000 was raised to help complete the project.
