Portland, ME (WGAN)   Some hunters in Maine are reportedly using social media to track down and kill rarely seen animals.

The Portland Press Herald says a hunter allegedly saw a Facebook posting about a King Eider Duck spotted in Wells, and then killed it.

There have been other instances where it’s alleged social media was used this way.

It has prompted a Facebook site for bird watchers to warn its members not to give the location of a rare sighting, lest some hunter uses it.
