All of Maine’s counties remain green in the latest update to the state’s COVID-19 school health advisory system.

In the update released by the state Friday, Piscataquis County is the only county that is being closely monitored, though it hasn’t been moved to the yellow category. The positivity rate there has been above 5% each of the past two weeks, and the new case rate is twice as high as the next highest county.

The state says the overall rate of new coronavirus cases for school staff and students is 22 per 10,000, compared to 34 per 10,000 in the general population.

School staff and teachers are now eligible for vaccinations in Maine.
