Amtrak Downeaster May Suspend Friday Service

PORTLAND, ME (WGAN) – The Amtrak Downeaster may not be running Friday morning due to the fires and explosions in the Merrimack valley region of Massachusetts. Service was suspended following the series of explosions Thursday night, and passengers heading northbound were provided with bus transportation to their destinations. Anyone planning on taking the Downeaster today is urged to check their web site at amtrakdowneaster.com before heading out the door.
