Another truck is the victim of heavy damage after trying to pass under the low-lying Brown Street railroad bridge in Westbrook.

Police advised drivers to avoid the area after a Ryder truck had the top of its box sheared off, with its contents scattered along the roadway late Tuesday morning.

(Westbrook Police)

The bridge has a clearance of 11.5 feet, and has been the site of two other truck crashes in recent years -in April 2024 and September 2023.

The bridge’s low clearance is stated in big yellow signs on Brown Street.

No injuries were reported in the latest incident. The bridge carries railroad tracks over the Presumpscot River.
