Armed Robber Targets Westbrook, Seventh Robbery in a Week


WESTBROOK, Maine (WGAN)  Westbrook Police are investigating after the latest arm robbery in Cumberland County.

Police say a man went into the Subway sandwich shop on Bridgton Road just after 8:30 pm Monday.  Police say the suspect showed a handgun, demanded cash, then fled.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

This is the seventh robbery since March 20 in the Greater Portland area.  The robberies have happened in Westbrook, Portland, Falmouth and Cumberland.

Police say they are working together to try and find the suspect.

Westbrook Police posted surveillance video from the latest robbery on their Facebook page and are asking anyone that may recognize the suspect’s voice or appearance to give them a call.
