Arrest made in Portland homicide investigation

A Portland man has been charged with murder in connection with a homicide investigation.

Portland police say 43-year-old Matthew Merrick of Portland was found dead in an apartment on Marshall Street on Saturday.

After an autopsy on Sunday, the Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide.

48-year-old Domingus Nobrega of Portland was arrested at the Scarborough Walmart on Tuesday and charged with murder for Merrick’s death. He’s being held without bail at Cumberland County Jail.

Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to contact Portland police.
