Arrest made in shooting on Union Street in Bangor

BANGOR, Maine (WGAN) Bangor police responded to a report of a dispute involving gunfire on Union Street in Bangor last Tuesday.

The officers found a man had been shot in the lower leg, and the other involved party had fled the scene.

The incident stemmed from a domestic argument involving a female, during which 51-year-old Albe Lagasse allegedly produced a firearm and fired it at the victim. The victim allegedly returned fire, causing a gunshot wound to Lagasse’s face.

Lagasse was arrested this morning and charged with elevated aggravated assault. Bail has been set at $25,000.
