Two men face charges after an overnight manhunt in the Dover-Foxcroft area led to the capture of the second man.
Police say 36-year-old Ryan Mooreside of Shapleigh and 32-year-old Dilan McDougal of Orrington were involved in a hostage situation at the Irving gas station on Main Street Friday evening.
McDougal was arrested at the scene, but Mooreside wasn’t tracked down until Saturday afternoon in a wooded area near the Piscataquis River.
The Main State Police Tactical Team assisted with the arrests of Mooreside and McDougal, who are convicted felons with extensive criminal histories and were considered armed and dangerous.
Dover-Foxcroft Police originally searched a residence at the Country Meadows Lane Apartments Friday after being called in on a report of a disturbance.
Officers say it was determined that one person at the residence was involved in an incident in the Bangor area earlier on Friday.
Mooreside and McDougal were identified as the two people at the residence where there were reported to be firearms. As felons, both men were not allowed to possess weapons.
Both men had left the apartment with what police called a female “associate” when the search was conducted.
The female associate was with Mooreside when he was arrested Saturday. Officers did not say whether she was arrested.
Mooreside has been charged with criminal threatening with dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. McDougal has been charged with drug-related offenses. Both are being held on a probation violation.
