Auburn Man Taken Into Custody After Big Apple Robbery

AUBURN, Maine (WGAN) An Auburn man accused of robbing a Big Apple on Wednesday morning is in custody.

Auburn Police say they received a call of a reported robbery at the Big Apple at 296 Main St. around 2am on Wednesday. A man allegedly walked into the store demanding money and cigarettes. He never showed a weapon. He then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

27-year-old Ryan Lizotte of Auburn was identified as a suspect after a brief investigation. He was found on Pleasant St. in Auburn and taken into custody around 4:45am.

Police say Lizotte is being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $15,000 cash bail.
