AUBURN, Maine (AP) — Auburn is getting into the holiday spirit, putting up the city Christmas tree this week.

The tree was donated from Maple Point and went up Wednesday at Festival Plaza. WGME-TV reports the city says it is grateful to donor Joan Combs.

Workers say once the tree is secured in place, they’ll begin to dress it for holiday festivities.

Deputy Director of Auburn Public Works Scott Holland says they use the same amount of lights every year with a star on top of the tree.

A tree lighting ceremony and a parade will be held on Nov. 24.
