Authorities ID victim in fatal Bangor fire

The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office has released the identity of a man killed in a fire in Bangor last Thursday.

Firefighters responded to the fire around 6:15 p.m. the night of November 12th. They found the body of a man living in the first floor apartment in a building on Essex Street.

An autopsy was conducted, and the man was identified as 46-year-old Christopher Pickering.

Maine State Police say one firefighter was hospitalized and treated for smoke inhalation.

An investigation into the fire is still ongoing.
