Authorities identify person killed in accident on Sugarloaf Mountain

The snowboarder who died at Sugarloaf Mountain over the weekend has been identified.

The Chief Medical Examiner says 63-year-old Kendall Willard of Kingfield died of blunt force trauma around 9 a.m. Saturday morning.

Police say Willard dropped a glove while he was on a chairlift and walked down a closed trail to retrieve it, losing his footing and falling about 800 feet.

Sugarloaf expressed their sympathies to Willard’s family.
