LINCOLN, Maine (AP) Authorities have released the identity of a woman who was killed in a head-on collision in Lincoln.

The Bangor Daily News reported Monday that officials have identified the deceased woman as 60-year-old Nancy Violette. Three other people were injured in the head-on crash Friday afternoon on Route 6 in Lincoln.

Two cars collided into each other and left the road closed for several hours.

Lincoln Public Safety Director Daniel Summers says Violette was driving eastbound when her car struck another vehicle with three occupants that was coming in the opposite direction.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
