Authorities locate missing Maine woman with dementia

The search for a missing 72-year-old woman with dementia has come to an end. The Maine Warden Service says Marjorie May of Penobscot has been located alive.

The warden service had said that May was last seen Monday afternoon at her home on McCaslin Road.

Her disappearance led to a silver alert being issued and a search that included ground searchers, k9 units, drones, a warden service plane and a forest service helicopter.

In an update sent out just before 10 a.m. on Monday, Inland Fisheries & Wildlife said May was being assisted out of the woods by game wardens.

The update said she would be examined by emergency medical personnel.

Additional details on her disappearance and condition were not immediately available.
