A judge has denied Eliot Cutler’s attempt to amend his bail conditions.
Cutler, a former candidate for Maine governor, was convicted back in 2023 on possession of sexually explicit material involving a child under 12.
The 79-year-old has been accused of violating his probation four times, including in February, when State Police say they caught him with sexually explicit DVDs in South Portland.
In court on Wednesday, a judge denied a request by Cutler’s attorney to set a “reasonable bail” and allow him to be detained at home.
A hearing on whether to revoke Cutler’s probation will be held in May.
