Bangor man accused of domestic violence involving 2-year-old

Bangor police say a local man was arrested and charged with domestic violence after his girlfriend’s 2-year-old child was brought to a doctor’s office with suspicious injuries.

Police say the child was brought to the doctor on Tuesday. Detectives were called to the office and found suspicious bruising on the child, who was then transferred to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center.

Around 8 p.m. that night, police arrested 26-year-old Tevis Williams of Bangor. He was charged with elevated aggravated assault, domestic violence assault, and assault on a child less than 6 years of age.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
